The European Commission has published the 2025 Erasmus+ Guide, continuing with the structure from previous years and introducing some important novelties in the field of youth.
A key update in the 2025 Erasmus+ Guide for the youth sector is the reopening of KA2 Capacity Building in the Field of Youth projects to Sub-Saharan Africa (Region 9). This will facilitate cooperation in the field of youth and non-formal education between Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa, aiming to promote youth exchanges and youth participation activities. Projects involving youth organizations from Region 9 will be required to include a mobility component. The maximum budget for projects involving Sub-Saharan Africa will therefore be higher than for other Capacity Building Youth projects. Note that the applicants (coordinators) of these projects must be based in one of the EU Member States or third countries associated with the programme. Organizations from the Western Balkans, with the exception of Serbia, can only participate as partners in these CBY projects.
